In January, Prince Charles launched his Sustainable Markets Initiative, which is a scheme to tackle climate change. At that exact time, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle posted about a dog on Instagram.
The timing, reportedly, created tension between Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the Royal Family. The Sun reported at the time that Prince Charles was “frustrated” with the incident.
A MailOnline source claimed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle refused to coordinate with the Palace’s diaries and press activities. “The couple’s rejection of any simple coordination hasn’t gone down too well with Charles,” the said.
Royal fans were not too happy with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Instagram update during Prince Charles’ launch. Some even believed that the couple did it on purpose.
When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Sussex Royal account was created on Instagram, they amassed over 11 million followers. However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have lost hundreds of thousands of followers on the social media platform after abandoning it upon their royal exit.
As part of the deal for their withdrawal, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were banned from using the word “royal” in their future activities. The couple’s Instagram account is set to Sussex Royal, which means that they are not allowed to use it anymore.
After saying their goodbyes to their Instagram followers on March 30, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not posted on the Sussex Royal account since. Reports also claimed that the couple was set to close down their Sussex Royal Foundation as they start their new life outside the Royal family. However, their account is still up on the social media platform, but there was no new post.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially stepped down from their senior royal roles at the end of March. The couple shocked the world when they announced earlier this year that they will quit royal life.
