Superteams are nothing new to the NBA, especially for LeBron James. He was with a superteam in Miami, and that squad won two straight NBA crowns. It can be said that the current Lakers roster is close to the same elite status, but some pieces remain missing.

James currently headlines Los Angeles with Anthony Davis sharing the top billing. Kyle Kuzma is regarded as a core talent as well and a star, but for next season, the Lakers have the chance to further solidify the team by acquiring solid and available talents in the open market.

According to Fansided's Jonathan Kierman, the Lakers can complete the picture next season by bringing in Victor Oladipo and DeMarcus Cousins.

You read that right – Kierman is another voice to advocate for Cousins' return to Los Angeles.

Boogie was hired by the Purple & Gold at the start of the season, but as fate would have it, he wasn't able to play a single game. The big man was injured in August 2019, and the Lakers were forced to waive him in February.

Hiring back Cousins is a win-win for the Lakers. His records showed he is the best backup to the James-Davis combo, and as Kierman said, had Boogie got the chance to play and he was 100%, he could easily claim the spot as the Lakers' No. 3 star.

It's noteworthy that Cousins' rehab so far is nothing short of inspiring. He has proved that the challenge is not pulling himdown, and that he will eventually overcome his injury and return to action. Such an attitude has to be a winner in the Lakers locker room, and if reports are true, Boogie is well-respected by his former teammates.

As for Oladipo, the Indiana Pacers guard has made the wise decision to call it a season in order to make a full recovery and prepare for the battle next campaign. Oladipo is only 28 and his career is on a major upswing.

The Lakers can pick up Oladipo in top-form in the offseason, and it should turn out to be a good investment. The star might just explode again, and it will be to Los Angeles' gain when that happens, Kierman said.

According to Fadeaway World, the hiring suggestions make sense. Indeed, Cousins and Oladipo are not superstars, but their basketball skills have been proven already. In essence, they will bring in not the star-power but the fire to keep the Lakers superstars burning.

For Los Angeles, that should be good enough. However, Frank Vogel will need to check first how to bring the two targeted talents to the Lakers fold, then on to the next step.
