Queen Elizabeth II automatically became the Head of the British Monarch in 1952, on the day her father, King George VI died. Since then, she has reigned impressively despite all the challenges that the monarchy has continued to face.

This year, apparently, marks the 68th year of her reign in the United Kingdom and all of its commonwealth nations. But, with her advancing age, many have begun to wonder whether she will now abdicate to give way to her firstborn son, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales.

Reports of abdication and stepping down have continued to emerge in recent years. It is not surprising, though, considering that Queen Elizabeth II is already 94-years-old, and her husband, Prince Philip is already retired from royal duties.

Amid these talks, however, royal experts are, reportedly, certain that she will not leave her post anytime soon. As claimed, she had this "horror" experience in the past that has since "influenced" her in her reign, the Daily Express reported.

Speaking to the publication, royal expert and commentator Richard Fitzwilliams shared that Queen Elizabeth II had a life-changing moment in her youth that she greatly "endured" through the years. As reported, the expert "rubbished" any notion of abdication and retirement because of this "experience."

Fitzwilliams, reportedly, explained that the British Monarch has "no intention" of leaving her royal status as the Queen of the United Kingdom. He then said that this is because she has not "forgotten" her uncle, King Edward VIII's abdication in 1936. As it happened, it changed her whole life, and she still "regarded" the event with "horror," the expert continued.

Following her uncle's stepping down, her father automatically became the King of the United Kingdom. This then placed her above the line of succession.

Despite this, the then-Princess Elizabeth, reportedly, "made an oath" to serve the British Monarchy "her whole life." She was only 21-years-old at that time, the expert noted.

Upon her ascension to the British Throne in 1952, she has since lived out her oath before the public and the monarchy. This is why she will not abdicate nor pass her sole responsibility and duty to her son, Prince Charles.

These days, however, Queen Elizabeth II has remained behind closed doors due to the pandemic crisis. Previous reports also noted that her self-isolation with her husband, Prince Philip, on the grounds of Windsor Castle, is "indefinite."

But, despite the continued challenges and struggles today, many royal experts and analysts have, reportedly, remained firm with their notion that she will not abdicate. Therefore, it will likely take years before the world sees a new British Royal on the British Throne.
