Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are, currently, self-isolating inside the grounds of Windsor Castle. When the pandemic crisis emerged, the royal couple has since relocated to the Berkshire property to decrease the risk of contracting the virus.

Upon the royal's move to the royal residence, the Palace and the British Monarch either postponed or cancelled most of her public engagements, including even Princess Beatrice's wedding reception inside Buckingham Palace. They also, reportedly, cancelled the Queen's official birthday, Trooping The Colour, and made a "mini" event in Berkshire instead.

It is not surprising why the British Royals, especially Queen Elizabeth II, have prioritized her health and wellness in recent months. As explained, she and her husband belong to the age group that has the most risk to contract the novel coronavirus.

Despite this, though, she, along with the other royal officials, "made an exception" for Captain Tom Moore last week, according to Pure Wow. As it happened, they held a "knighthood ceremony" for the 100-year-old captain amid the lockdown in the country.

The reports revealed that the ceremony took place just outside Windsor Castle on Friday. Nevertheless, Queen Elizabeth II still went out of quarantine to conduct the event.

Amid the ceremony, publications said that everyone in attendance, including Moore's family, followed strict "social distancing protocols." This is reportedly to ensure that the two most vulnerable individuals, the Queen and the Captain, will not be put at risk.

The British Monarch "conferred" the honor of knighthood on Tom Moore because of his efforts and dedication in helping the public amid the pandemic crisis. As revealed, the former British Army officer raised more than $37 million for the workers at the front lines in the United Kingdom, according to Town and Country.

In the same report, sources said that Downing Street confirmed the Captain's knighthood earlier in May. The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, even, reportedly, deemed him a "beacon of light" amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Several photos and clips of the event went viral following the actual ceremony. Some sources also went on to reveal that Queen Elizabeth II left her granddaughter, Princess Beatrice's wedding inside Windsor Castle for the special ceremony with Captain Tom Moore.

While this may be true, the British royals have yet to confirm whether it is true or not. Nevertheless, the two events, reportedly, happened on the same day, which was on July 17, last Friday.
