Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are, currently, living in Los Angeles with their son Archie after they officially stepped down as senior royals in March. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in their withdrawal announcement earlier this year that they wish to have a more “peaceful life” while being “financially independent.”

But, just because Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are no longer working royals, that does not mean that they will no longer speak up on causes that they are passionate about. Recently, the Duchess of Sussex joined the 2020 Girl Up Leadership Summit, which is an UN-backed female empowerment meeting.

Royal rota host Chris Ship noticed that a segment from Meghan Markle’s speech seemingly revealed the reason why she wanted to leave the Royal Family with Prince Harry. "Meghan talks about the hardest part and it was the hardest part for me, is chasing your convictions with action,” he said.

Chris Ship wondered if Meghan Markle was not able to chase convictions with actions while she was still in the Royal Family. He then admitted that he’s only trying to interpret the Duchess of Sussex’s message.

Sky News' royal correspondent Rhiannon Mills noted that Meghan Markle already talked about the topics that she addressed in the 2020 Girl Up Leadership Summit before. However, she pointed out that the difference is that this is the first time that the Duchess of Sussex talked about this since she and Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals.

Rhiannon Mills, then, added that she had been listening to Meghan Markle’s speech in the past where she didn’t hold back. The royal correspondent shared that the Duchess of Sussex was “more punchy” in her recent speech.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle was an actress before she married Prince Harry in 2018. Although the Duchess of Sussex had to give up her celebrity status to be the wife of the younger son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, she still maintains her capability of being comfortable with speaking to people.

With chaos erupting in the U.S. over the death of George Floyd at the hands of police brutality on May 25, Meghan Markle touched on this subject during a speech she gave to graduates at the Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles. A report then revealed that the Duchess of Sussex didn’t have notes when she delivered her message.
