Prince Harry's popularity dramatically drops after he steps down as a senior member of the Royal Family. A poll shows the British public sees him more as a liability for the monarchy instead of an asset.

Almost half of those who voted for the Duke of Sussex as an asset eight years ago was now gone. From 75%, his fame has gone down to 35%.

According to The Sun, in the YouGov poll conducted in June 2012, only nine percent of those surveyed saw him as a liability. Now, it has drastically increased to 38%. His wife, Meghan Markle, gets 51% liability vote and only 24% as an asset.

The poll also showed that Prince Andrew was the least popular royal of them all. Eighty percent saw him as a liability, while only four percent believed he had something to offer.

Queen Elizabeth II remains the most favorite royal, with 81% voted for her as an asset. Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Charles follow her leadDaily Star noted.

The Duke of Cambridge gets 79% of votes as the next most popular royal, while 76% favors his wife. About half of the Brits or 54% see the Duke of Cornwall as an asset.

According to CheatSheet, Prince Harry and Meghan have found it hard to get their way to the public since they started dating in 2016. Before he had a relationship with the former actress, the prince used to be one of the most-loved royals.

However, as everything seemed to change since he tied the knot with the Duchess of Sussex, it looked like the U.K. people started to drop his approval ratings. In the poll Redfield & Wilton Strategies conducted in April, Express noted that out of 1,500 people surveyed, 54% didn't want them to continue their royal duties.

About 18% didn't know if they wanted them back to their royal roles, while 28% wanted them to return to the U.K. Less than one third were still hoping that they would join the Royal Family again.

In the early days, Prince Harry used to be the third most-liked member of the family, following his brother, Prince William, and Queen Elizabeth herself. He had an almost 90% approval rating back then.

As he stepped down as a senior member of the Royal Family and moved to Los Angeles with Meghan and their son, Archie, it looked like the British public lost their interest in him. Thirty-three percent of those people surveyed also said that the COVID-19 pandemic made them saw Prince Andrew poorly.
