A key figure who has not been seeing much action since the football restart is Callum Hudson-Odoi. The 19-year-old has been playing behind the likes of Christian Pulisic and Willian Borges da Silva as of late, raising questions on possible frustration on his part. However, Frank Lampard clarifies that the English winger's time will come and that he just needs to maintain his level of training.

Opting to turn to Hudson-Odoi has puzzled many. Even with Pulisic nursing an injury, Lampard has gone with other players in the mix. Such has raised questions on the 19-year-old to possibly consider a move out of Stamford Bridge in the next transfer window. But the Blues coach maintains that there is no issue at all as far as his relationship with Hudson-Odoi, Sky Sports reported.

"I've spoken about Callum a lot, he needs to keep training at the highest level, which is actually what I've seen him doing, particularly in the last week or 10 days," Lampard said.

Lampard went on to explain that he is in a spot at times before match day. The fact that he can only have 11 spots for his starting Xi, the need for players to work hard and show they deserve to be part of that group is a must.

"So only as much as I'd expect anyone else. I have a squad here to pick, I pick a lot on how players train and daily what they can give us, and if they start or come in games what they give us. So it's the same as every other player," Lampard explained.

Hence, all Hudson-Odoi can do for now is exercise more patience. He is still young and will eventually get his due. He is seen as part of the young players that Lampard is expected to bank on moving forward. But with players like Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and possibly Kai Havertz coming in, Hudson-Odoi may need to go the extra mile to earn a starting nod.

Also, Hudson-Odoi may need to broaden his outlook. Chelsea has won six of its last eight matches, a reason why they are in the top four. The run has also given them a Champions League berth, indicating that Lampard has been pushing all the right buttons so far.

Chelsea F.C. appears to be loaded heading into the transfer window. Aside from the names mentioned, the Blues are also looking to shore up other positions. Hudson-Odoi could be part of something big. All he needs to do right now is to be more patient.
