Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi followed their secret marriage with an after-party celebration in accordance with the U.K. government COVID-19 guidelines. There were only about 30 guests that attended the gathering at the nearby grounds of Royal Lodge.
The ceremony was held at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor Great Park, which was quite near the Windsor Castle. The celebration, alternatively, was an outdoor party at the shared home of Princess Beatrice's parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
A source told People a few more guests were at the after-party than the wedding itself, which had about 20 people. It was a "very small and intimate" celebration that took place under a tent with the same floral design and theme as the wedding.
Prince Andrew and Mozzi's stepbrother, Alby Shale, both gave toasts. The couple only streamed music through their iPhone connected to the speakers, which was set up outside, as live music is still banned in the current government guidelines.
Princess Beatrice and her husband, along with their guests, stayed in "special glamping pods," which were built 100 yards away from the church. The insider revealed they all partied into the night.
In addition, the newlywed's low-key celebration was, reportedly, also to avoid drawing more attention to the scandal Prince Andrew is going through due to his connection with Jeffrey Epstein. An alleged friend revealed with all the issues surrounding the Duke of York; the scaled-down wedding was "better" in a lot of ways.
The father of the bride showed his support to his daughter despite the controversies he is into on her special day. Another insider told Us Weekly that while Princess Beatrice is standing by her dad, she feels horrified that his name is "being dragged through the mud."
But, whatever is happening, the Princess of York wanted his dad at her wedding. Fortunately, he managed to walk her down the aisle and even gave a speech at the reception.
Also, to avoid more public attention, Princess Beatrice, reportedly, chose to keep her photos with Prince Andrew for her "personal collection" than to show it to the public. Instead, she officially published snaps with her grandparents, Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II.
The tipster explained that Princess Beatrice and her grandmother both agreed that it was for the better not to release Prince Andrew's photographs to avoid more stir. Since news about Andrew's friendship with Epstein dominated the news last year, he has been keeping a low profile.
