Real Madrid's successful La Liga campaign in the season is expected to be followed by significant roster movements to defend the title next season. The Spanish giants, however, have made clear that the planned signings in the summer will be far from the Galactico level seen in the past years.

Real president Florentino Perez has admitted that the present situation is not conducive to big spending such as seen in the past. The club chief said times are hard due to the coronavirus pandemic and prudence dictates that the organization should hold on to the available cash.

"The situation is really bad ... Madrid will sign the best again when the situation changes," Goal reported Perez as saying.

The executive further explained that it's hard for him to justify big signings in the upcoming transfer window and then ask the current roster members to accept pay cuts. So the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba will have to wait until the finances at Los Blancos have stabilized.

Nonetheless, Zinedine Zidane is keen to make minor adjustments in the Real squad but his hiring move will greatly depend on how quickly the players marked for selling can be offloaded and how money the transactions will generate. The Frenchman has already identified, for instance, Gareth Bale and Dani Ceballos as "surplus to requirements," and Bernabeu is ready to listen to offers.

Ceballos is seen to soon sign a permanent deal with Arsenal where the playmaker is on loan since the start of the season. Bale's status, however, is a bit more complicated. Zidane said the Welshman is no longer a part of his game plan but Bale has indicated he has no plan to leave.

While Zidane is hard-pressed to find a solution to the Bale situation, he is said to be eyeing a move on the Rennes teen sensation Eduardo Camavinga. The teenager has been identified as a backup to Casemiro and seen to be developed as the latter's eventual replacement.

Camavinga though will not come cheap. His estimated value is at £72 million and can go even higher, and the numbers are not too attractive for Real at the moment. The youngster will have to wait but his club is unlikely to do the same.

According to AS, the French side is planning to capitalize on the rising star and will push ahead if the bid to qualify for the Champions League fails. Camavinga will be placed on the open market this summer in such a situation and it is understood that Rennes will not accept offers that priced the player lower than £80 million.

And if Camavinga's agent is to be believed, the teenager is keen to join Real Madrid but is not willing to wait another 12 months. He is likely to move forward and consider the offers coming from European giants such as Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
