Reese Witherspoon, reportedly ended her friendship with Nicole Kidman after the latter didn't involve her Big Little Lies co-star in her latest TV project. A tabloid claimed Kidman intentionally started the production of Nine Perfect Strangers in Australia so Witherspoon couldn't join the upcoming TV series.

Woman's Day published a story this week alleging Witherspoon ended her friendship with Kidman because of a TV show. The Legally Blonde actress was, allegedly, upset with Nicole for not only accepting Nine Perfect Strangers but also moving its production to her home country, Australia.

The tabloid added Witherspoon was, also, furious because she was the one who introduced Kidman to Australian author Liane Moriarty, who wrote both Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers novels. The tabloid assumed that Reese was hurt when Kidman and Moriarty moved the production of their new show together in Australia where there was no hope for her to get involved in.

A source told the tabloid Reese was upset because Kidman knows that there is no way she can film in Australia for several reasons. Witherspoon has three kids that will be left behind if she does.

The insider added there were also rumors about The Morning Show actress' marriage to Tim Toth. Moreover, it is also unlikely for her to travel at the moment considering the travel restrictions because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Gossip Cop, however, dismissed the latest story of Woman's Day about the two Hollywood stars. Firstly, the publication noted that Nine Perfect Strangers was announced in July 2018, the same time Reese and Nicole were filming Big Little Lies Season 2.

At the time, it was mentioned that the Bombshell actress would star and produce the series. It means Witherspoon knew from the start that Kidman would be doing a new show.

Gossip Cop added that, since Kidman and Moriarty are both Australians, it is not surprising that they choose to film Down Under. The tabloid stressed that was unlikely done just to get away from Witherspoon.

Gossip Cop also mentioned that Woman's Day wasn't exactly truthful about its reports about the two actresses. It previously reported that Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon caused the delay in the release of Big Little Lies Season 2 because of their ego

In late 2018, it reported that the HBO hit drama wouldn't premiere that year because Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon chose to promote their personal projects first and don't have time in their schedules to promote BLL. This, allegedly, upset the crew and other cast members of the series.

Gossip Cop debunked the rumor. It noted that HBO programming president Casey Bloys himself announced in January 2018 that the second installment of the critically acclaimed drama wouldn't debut that year.
