Taylor Swift made necessary changes to her new album merch after she was accused of stealing the logo of a black-owned retailer of apparel and accessories. Swift's team assured that it wasn't intentional and the brand accepted the singer's apology and action.

Swift dropped her surprise album, folklore, last week. Soon after, it was announced that the cardigan sweater that the "Lover" singer used on the music video of her new song "cardigan" is available for purchase online.

However, there's a problem. The logo on the merch has a striking similarity to the one that is being used by the online retail store, The Folklore, since 2018 when the company was launched.

Amira Rasool, the founder of the online store, pointed out that the logo on Taylor's sweater looked very similar with their company logo. She shared side-by-side snaps of Swift's cardigan and her company's logo, showing the similarities of the two.

It can be noticed that the retail shop uses a custom roman font while Taylor's uses an italicized script. However, the use of the word "the" on the side and affixed it perpendicularly to the phrase "folklore album" was similar to how Rasool used it as their logo.

Rasool told In Style that it is hard to believe that Swift's team didn't come across their brand and see the similarities of their merch logo to The Folklore store. She added that since Taylor's merch was announced, her friends have been asking if she collaborated with the singer because they are using the same logo.

Rasool said they are concerned that people might think they are the one who is copying Swift. She vowed they wouldn't let the "theft" of their company logo go unanswered.

Taylor Swift's team responded to Rasool's call and removed the word "the" before the "folklore album" on their merch's design. They, also, clarified that no merch using "the" has been manufactured or sent out to those who already ordered Taylor's cardigan.

Rasool responded to Taylor's team action. She commended them for acknowledging their mistake and taking swift action on their merch design. Amara added that the award-winning singer/songwriter has been known as a strong advocate for women's creative rights and they were glad that she stood for that on this instance.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift's cardigan with a new design logo is currently available on the singer's official website. Fans can purchase it for $49 along with the digital standard edition of the folklore album.
