Prince William shared that he disappointed Kate Middleton for giving her the worst gift she received while they were still dating. The Duke of Cambridge, apparently, gave her a pair of binoculars during their courtship and the Duchess of Cambridge never lets him forget this mistake.

The royal shared some anecdotes about his life for the podcast with Peter Crouch for BBC Radio 5. Prince William said that he had no idea why he gave the woman he was wooing such an unromantic gadget. He said that Kate had this confused look on her face when she opened the present, which he carefully wrapped.

The couple met while in college at St. Andrews University in 2003. In the book William and Kate: A Royal Love Story, royal biographer Christopher Anderson wrote that Prince William and Kate's first few months of courtship were quite awkward.

Kate, apparently, curtsied to Prince William when they were introduced. Prince William, on the other hand, spilled a drink on himself and he was certain that Kate would never want to see him again.

These days, however, Prince William and Kate are no longer the awkward and embarrassing college pair. After nearly two decades together, the Cambridges have grown more confident and in sync in their roles as parents and future head of the royal family.

Meanwhile, Prince William, also, revealed in the podcast that there's one thing that easily prompts him to post on Twitter. He said that the royal staff "deliberately" keeps him off the social media platform but he couldn't control himself during one game of football between Liverpool and Barcelona in May 2019.

He said that he was floored by the win that he just had to post on Twitter. He told himself he needed to tweet his excitement over the "one of the best games of football" he has ever seen. So, on that day, Prince William posted on Twitter to acknowledge Liverpool for "an incredible result." Royal fans always know that it's the duke who sends the message because he usually writes a W, for his name, at the end.

Prince William, also, admitted that he has this urge to tweet about his favorite team, the Aston Villa. However, he has been trying to hold it off or his staff at Kensington Palace tries to control him because he might get carried away. The Duke of Cambridge joked that he fights with his staff because of this.
