The latest mid-range smartphone from the search engine giant Google is now available. The company announced today the Google Pixel 4a that offers a lot of features at a budget-friendly price. The Pixel 4a is now available for pre-order and would start shipping on August 20.
Google Pixel 4a Details
The Google Pixel 4a is the first Pixel handset to feature a hole-punch camera. It sports an 8 MP shooter in front. It also sports a 12.2 MP dual-pixel camera at the back. This allows the smartphone to offer electronic image stabilization, f/1.7 aperture, Night Sight, 77-degree FOV, and a Portrait mode.
The display is flat, but it gives a nearly bezel-less look to the newest Google smartphone. The screen is a 5.81-inch 1080 x 2340 OLED. The Google Pixel 4a still comes with the headphone jack at the top. There are volume rockers and power button on the right side of the device and a sim card slot on the left.
Since the device is a mid-range handset, Google seemingly cut corners. The Pixel 4a has a polycarbonate unibody instead of a glass or metal sandwich that consumers are used to. The new smartphone still features the fingerprint sensor at the back.
Google Pixel 4a Memory, Power and OS Details
The Pixel 4a houses a 3150 mAh battery and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC. It features a 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage along with the Titan M security module. As for its operating system, the Google Pixel 4a runs on Android 10 out of the box and comes with three years of security and operating system updates.

Contrary to earlier rumors, Google's mid-range handset does not feature wireless charging. This makes sense, considering that its body is made of polycarbonate material. The Google Pixel 4a is now available in a single storage and size capacity. It retails at $349 for the model with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.
As for the available color option, at the time of this writing, the Pixel 4a is only available in Black. The new smartphone from the search engine giant is currently available for pre-order in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Australia, Germany, Japan, and Ireland.
Other Google Products Announced
Apart from the Pixel 4a, Google also announced earlier today the Pixel 4a 5G and the Google Pixel 5. The Pixel 4a 5G and the Pixel 5 are shipping sometime in the Fall of 2020. The 5G variant of the Pixel 4a will retail at $499.
