Neymar has set his sight on one thing these days - winning trophies while enjoying his time playing for Paris Saint-Germain. The current term saw the French side dominating the domestic competition but the Brazilian striker has bigger plans in mind - he wants a piece of the Champions League title wearing the PSG shirt.

In a statement posted on PSG's official site, the South American said he believes his side is close to becoming the European champions, something that he has already experienced as part of the Barcelona squad.

The superstar said his mind and body are prepared for the battles ahead and he is convinced success will greet the team at the end of the road.

"I am in my best form since I arrived in Paris ... We want to win the Champions League title. We will fight because we have never been so close," Goal reported Neymar as saying.

The striker admitted that it was a mix of joy and challenges since his arrival at Parc des Princes over three years ago due to the distractions he had to deal with. The series of injuries frustrated him as Neymar revealed that being forced out of the pitch made for difficult moments.

The 28-year-old did not mention but it was apparent that his intent to return to Camp Nou in the past seasons put him off track. Neymar claimed those years are already behind him, stressing: "I have acquired a lot of knowledge."

He is more focused now, and for that, the Brazilian credited his PSG teammates, whom he described as "family."

PSG will clash with Atalanta on August 12 and the Italians know they are facing a pack led by a man fired up to win. Atalanta's Marco Verratti said Neymar seemed determined to power the Parisians for a No. 1 finish in Europe's most prestigious competition.

The midfielder conceded that mostly because of Neymar, PSG is among the strongest contenders in the Champions League.

"Neymar is a leader who plays and always trains hard, an example for all ...  They have the possibility of winning, and winning here would be really special," the Express reported the Italian midfielder as saying.

The Parisian are shooting for a quadruple to wrap up the season. PSG already pocketed Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Coupe de la Ligue so the big win in Europe will complete the silverware quest of Thomas Tuchel's side.

To accomplish the mission, Neymar is doing his share with 19 goals scored in all competition for the term, adding to the total of 70 he has netted since signing with PSG.
