The Marvel Cinematic Universe is already filled with A-list actors who have proven they have the star power and acting prowess to truly embody the greatest superheroes. So is it finally time for Shia LaBeouf to join their ranks?

There have been speculations that Marvel Studios already has their eye on the Holes star. However, it also looks like they are considering LaBeouf for a number of major X-Men roles which happens to include Wolverine.

There is little doubt that Marvel fans were excited when Disney finally acquired 20th Century Fox since it would mean that properties like the X-Men and the Fantastic Four will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. People were already looking forward to huge crossovers that would feature all of the superheroes and mutants from the comic books.

For now, Marvel Studios has yet to make an official confirmation about which X-Men characters will be showing up in the MCU. However, that hasn't stopped fans from wondering if Shia LaBeouf is one of the major stars who will be brought in to play a fan-favorite mutant.

It is possible that Marvel Studios will recast the X-Men once they are finally introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But who will be the new actors who could portray the mutants? Some fans believe that Wolverine is a key character who should be introduced into the MCU and one fan art imagines Shia LaBeouf as the mutant originally portrayed by Hugh Jackman.

Interestingly, people believe it's a great idea considering that Wolverine is depicted as a shorter man in the comic books. However, he's not the only character that LaBeouf might play in the MCU.

According to We Got This Covered, some sources have revealed that Marvel Studios is thinking of casting Shia LaBeouf as Iceman in a future X-Men project. It would be an interesting choice for the studio since Iceman is one of the first openly gay Marvel characters in the comic books.

However, it is important to point out that the casting has not yet been confirmed so it is best to take this with a grain of salt.

Shia LaBeouf might not yet be officially a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but he is still a very busy man. His latest film The Tax Collector was released on August 7 while his next project, the Kornél Mundruczó drama titled Pieces of a Woman, is scheduled to premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September.
