The Warriors ended the season on a low note. The loss of Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry to injury limited the team's ability to win. It hurt too that Kevin Durant had elected to join the Brooklyn Nets, and so the former NBA champions finished at the bottom of the league.

The team will want to do better next season and to do that Bob Myers, the team's general manager, has to make the right decision in the offseason. While Golden State is expected to start the campaign with healthy core talents, Myers is tasked to pick up new talents that will contribute to the cause.

The GM admitted that the bar is high for the basketball to come. GSW dominated the NBA in the last six years and Curry and company are shooting to relive the old glory days. It is understood that for the Warriors, the minimum goal is to make the NBA Finals next season.

That being the case, Myers said there is no pressure from the Big 3 - Curry, Thompson, and Draymond Green - to get his hands on players who are proven winners.

"I don't feel any pressure from any of them to do a certain thing. I know it's been written that we need to win now and they need to get a proven player. They've not said that to me," Clutch Points reported the Warriors exec as saying, picking from the story by ESPN.

As things stand, Myers indeed is not hard-pressed to sign players who are proven winners to add to the roster. When basketball hostilities commence for the next season, the Warriors Big 3 are expected to be in top form. Plus, Andrew Wiggins will be on hand to partner with Green on the team's frontcourt duties.

The backcourt, of course, will be the territory reserved for Curry and Thompson so essentially the Dubs' immediate need is for able support to the core talents. The GM's pick in the upcoming draft will show if such a requirement will be met.

It is believed that Golden State will make use of their Top 5 pick to recruit a promising talent and then use that asset to trade for an established star. This is the shortest route to recovery that fits with the club's intention of winning another NBA title next season.

The GSW front office, however, will likely encounter some challenges in finding the talent for the team's liking. As the same report indicated, the current pool of stars that Myers will pick from is not exactly exciting.

It is surely exciting, however, that the NBA games resumed despite the global pandemic. Curry said he is happy and a little sad that the season was restarted.

According to CBS Sports, the former league MVP looks forward to catching the games on television. But at the same time, Curry felt missing out on the fun watching LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard doing the things that he had to wait for a few more months to enjoy.
