Apple may have already revealed the date of the iPhone 12 event. Whispers online claimed earlier claimed that the Cupertino company would officially unveil this year's flagship iPhone sometime in September. However, a new teaser video shared by the company's official channel may have given away the exact date of the iPhone 12 lineup's unveiling.
Earlier, Apple posted an event test on YouTube, which hinted that the much-awaited official reveal of the iPhone 12 series could happen on September 10, 2020. The company immediately removed the test feed, suggesting that the date could be wrong. However, long before Apple had removed the event test, several fans already noticed the test feed on the YouTube channel of the company.
Based on the screen captured details, the event test listed that the video would go live on September 10. The specific date could be inaccurate, but it is the same date when Apple officially debuted the iPhone 11 series in 2019. Is it possible that the date on the event test was unchanged since last year or probably a placeholder from previous year's iPhone 11 series' launch?

September 10, 2020, falls on a Thursday, which is unusual for Apple to schedule an event on that day. The Cupertino company typically holds its events on Tuesdays with several exceptions. If Monday falls on a holiday, the company sometimes moves to Wednesday.
It avoided holding events on Thursday so it would not fall on the day that the U.S. commemorates the 9/11 terror attacks. The date of the event test falls on a Thursday, which is not a good time for product launching. People are preparing for the weekend and could compromise the attention Apple aims to have for its flagship iPhone series.
Additionally, an Apple executive previously confirmed that the availability of the iPhone 12 would be moved back for a few weeks. While it is possible for Apple to hold an official iPhone 12 launch anytime, these two factors underscore that a debut at an early part of September is unlikely.
Rumors have it that Apple is planning to launch four new iPhone 12 models this year. There would be a 5.4-inch iPhone 12, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. Regular iPhone 12 models would reportedly ship with 5G support and house Apple's A14 Bionic chip. These models would feature two rear cameras while the higher-tier models would feature three rear cameras with a LiDar sensor.
