Prince Harry has seen the Royal Family stay out of issues surrounding politics. Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the clan are expected to be neutral regarding the topic at all times. Even though they have their own beliefs and stands, the royals, most of the time, keep their opinions to themselves.

But even though Prince Harry has stepped back from his senior royal role, a royal commentator claimed that he will still “avoid politics.” Meghan Markle, on the other hand, has promised to be more vocal and is lending her support to certain campaigns.

"Harry is on a journey which is very 'woke.' Apart from Invictus and mental health, he will champion other charitable causes but will avoid party politics,” Richard Fitzwilliams said.

Now that Meghan Markle is no longer a working royal, she doesn’t have to be politically neutral anymore. In fact, many have noticed that the Duchess of Sussex had been very vocal lately with topics that she would never touch before.

Last month, Meghan Markle delivered a speech in the Girl Up leadership conference. The Duchess of Sussex took part in the gender equality initiative of the United Nations Foundation, which, reportedly, marked a "significant moment" for her.

Sky News' royal correspondent Rhiannon Mills noted that Meghan Markle already talked about the topics that she addressed in the prerecorded video before. However, she pointed out that the difference is that this is the first time that the Duchess of Sussex talked about this since she and Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals.

Rhiannon Mills, then, added that she had been listening to Meghan Markle’s speech in the past where she didn’t hold back. The royal correspondent shared that the Duchess of Sussex was “more punchy” in her recent speech.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle was an actress before she married Prince Harry in 2018. Although the Duchess of Sussex had to give up her celebrity status to be the wife of the younger son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, she still maintains her capability of being comfortable with speaking to people.

On top of being an actress, Meghan Markle was also an activist and a public speaker. In 2012, the Duchess of Sussex joined USA Network's “Characters Unite: ‘I Won't Stand For’” campaign and spoke about her struggles being a biracial woman.
