The Golden State Warriors own the right to the second overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft, perhaps a bit of a disappointment considering most felt they would be the top selector. Regardless, all that did was add a bit of suspense to the coming draft. Anthony Edwards is believed to be their choice but now, all they can hope for is for the Minnesota Timberwolves to pick someone else.

The T-Wolves are reportedly interested in LaMelo Ball who they would pair with D'Angelo Russell, NBC Sports reported. That would make sense considering Minnesota needs added firepower. However, some feel that this may not work. The tandem may not be ideal defensively. Aside from that, both are known to want the ball more on their hands.

Ironically, that could be the same if the T-Wolves would pick Edwards. James Wiseman is an unlikely target, someone who needs to polish his game a lot more. With Karl-Anthony Towns already there, the wise money is on Ball or Edwards.

For the Warriors, Ball or Edwards would make sense. Wiseman would have been ideal but Steve Kerr is unlikely to waste the second overall pick on someone that needs a lot of work. But even if the Dubs were to get either Ball or Edwards, the question there is if Golden State will keep them.

Similar to what they did with Russell last season, they could give whoever they pick a chance to play first. If things don't work out, they could end up trading him by the NBA trade deadline. Of course, it is also possible that they trade their pick early on. But for that to happen, the player/s in return need to be worth it.

Spencer Dinwiddie made a curious suggestion of the Dubs possibly trading away their top pick. The Philadelphia 76ers were singled out with Joel Embiid or Ben Simmons possibly being offered. Both players have been struggling to stay healthy, meaning one could be dealt away. Simmons has been linked to the Cleveland Cavaliers although nothing has gone through the rumor stages.

For the Dubs, adding a big man makes more sense. Embiid would be perfect, addressing their middle problems. Simmons would be an ideal choice as well, assuming the Dubs want small ball basketball with Big Ben playing center. They are loaded with shooters so adding someone who loves to penetrate could work.

These are speculations and should be taken with a grain of salt. Philly could move one between Embiid or Simmons after disappointing yet again. For the Dubs, adding another guard hardly makes sense. A trade could happen although only for the right price.
