Queen Elizabeth has reigned for more than six decades. Reports said that she has become today's most popular reigning monarch across the globe.

While many have continued to celebrate the British Royal Family and the British Monarchy, several individuals and organizations have rallied against the British Royals. One of them is Republic, a political organization that campaigns for the abolishing of the crown.

The organization's CEO, recently, spoke to the Daily Express and shared his views on the British Monarch's powers. Graham Smith claimed that the Queen has "no real powers," adding that she is "self-serving."

Smith explained that, while Queen Elizabeth has "technical authority," everything still needs to go through the country's Prime Minister, Boris Johnson. Her authority as the head of the British Monarchy "almost always" has to fall according to the "wishes" of the PM.

He argued that this makes the monarchy, as a whole, "vague and confusing." He, then, deemed this dynamic as "one of the problems" of the United Kingdom.

The anti-monarchist continued and suggested that the British public needs to have an "independent" head of state, noting that Ireland has this kind of government.

Queen Elizabeth, reportedly, does nothing, except protecting the British Monarchy. The Republic's CEO asserted that she could do or stop anything.

In citing examples, Smith referenced the history of monarchies around the globe. He said that monarchs are useless, especially when it comes to dictatorships.

He ended his statements by claiming that all monarchs, including the British Queen, are "not defenders of democracy." They are, instead, a big part of the problem.

India's Business Insider, recently, released a list of Queen Elizabeth's "incredible powers." Aside from the shocking dominion over all swans and dolphins, the Queen, reportedly, has the power to sign laws.

The publication, also, listed that she can create Lords, and has the authority to form governments. As the head of the monarchy, she could "ignore" or "overrule" any ministerial advice, particularly in "grave constitutional crisis."

But, many have continued to wonder who is truly more powerful between the Queen and the Prime Minister. In an online forum, Quora, netizens shared their technical insights about the matter.

Based on the responses, the majority agrees that Queen Elizabeth is more powerful in legal terms. However, the case is, reportedly, different in terms of practicality.

As noted by the netizens, all of the Queen's powers and privileges have to be under the Prime Minister's advice because the PM has the "confidence" of the Parliament.
