BTS members donated close to 1 billion won to children's charities in just two years.
According to a report by Koreaboo, BTS donated 950 million won to different charities in recent years, proving that RM, Jin, Suga, J-Jope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are as compassionate as they are talented.
The 950 million won does not include non-cash donations and donations that members donated to charities privately.
Based on the figures, J-Hope was the most charitable BTS member. He donated 450 million won ChildFund in the space of two years.
In 2018, the rapper donated 150 million won to the Gwangju branch of ChildFund Korea to support students attending his former high school in the area. J-Hope made two more donations totaling 200 million won to the same branch of ChildFund Korea the following year to provide scholarships for 10 students who will attend Jeonnam Girls' Commercial High School for five years. This month, J-Hope made another donation to ChildFund to help vulnerable children cope with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jimin did not become a celebrated son of Busan without a reason. The BTS member donated 200 million won to the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education to provide lunch and educational materials to poverty-stricken students in his hometown.
BTS's Suga took the initiative to donate 100 million to the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation to fund treatments, surgeries, and schooling for children suffering from cancer. He donated under the fandom name, ARMY.
BTS leader RM shared his passion for the arts with hearing impaired students studying at Seoul Samsung School. The rapper donated 100 million won to teach music to deaf students.
It comes as no surprise that BTS members are very generous to the needy. As one of the biggest musical acts in the world, the members are enjoying huge paychecks from their hard work and success.
According to a separate report by Koreaboo, members RM, Jin, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook are all estimated individually to have net worths of at least US$8 million as of 2019.
J-Hope was the biggest earner ,since he was the only member who had a net worth of $12 million USD as of last year.
The collective earnings of the group are expected to rise this year with the massive success of their Map of the Soul: 7 album released in February, their recently released English single "Dynamite" and the upcoming comeback album they are planning to drop before the end of 2020.
