The Crown actress Olivia Colman plays Queen Elizabeth in the royal drama's season 3 and 4, and she did meet the monarch in person and blurted out an explicit word in the process.

Colman relayed that this incident happened six years ago, long before she had to play Her Majesty in the Netflix drama series. They were at Windsor Castle for a royal engagement with members of the film industry, when they were suddenly asked to line up because Queen Elizabeth was joining them.

The actress said that she didn't expect to meet the Queen for the first time and, as soon as she saw her walking towards the corridor, all she could say was "Oh, f***k!" Lucky for the showbiz royalty. However, the Queen was not within earshot when she cursed. There was also a man who told the guests what they must do in front of Her Majesty, so everything would go smoothly.

Mustering enough calm, Colman was able to bow before the Queen without any problems. A few years later, she snapped up the opportunity of a lifetime, playing the larger-than-life personality.

Colman took over for Claire Foy, who was Queen Elizabeth in The Crown season 1 and 2. Her take on the role is as a more mature and experienced Queen as opposed to Foy's young monarch, who is still learning to lead and rule.

The Crown season 4 will be launching on the streaming platform this November and will bring the marriage of Prince Charles (played by Josh O'Connor) and Princess Diana (played by Emma Corrin) to the front and center of the story.  The new season will also introduce Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (played by Gillian Anderson).

Showrunner Peter Morgan said that it took him some time to convince Anderson to play the formidable prime minister, known to the world as the Iron Lady. The actress was their first choice for the part and the producers were lucky she said yes, after a week of convincing.

Colman also hinted that The Crown season 4 will highlight Queen Elizabeth's closeness with her sister, Princess Margaret. The actress said that this relationship dynamic wasn't fully explored in the earlier seasons but it will be one of the most important stories of season 4.

Netflix will release The Crown season 4 at the midnight on Nov. 15. The show, also, stars Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip. This will be their last season appearance as the main stars will be replaced with older actors for seasons 5 and 6.
