Katy Perry skipped the 2020 MTV VMAs not only because of the COVID-19 but, most importantly, she has mommy duties at home. Perry showed to her fans how her hands are full, at the moment, with a selfie of her in postpartum underwear.

The "Firework" singer couldn't be more proud of her newborn baby and her new mom body. Perry shared, on her Instagram Story, a mirror selfie while wearing a breast pumping bra and high-waisted underwear in celebration of this year's VMAs, just five days after she gave birth.

Like what celebrities normally do when attending an event, she tagged her "wardrobe sponsors" in her post. Perry tagged Medela for her nursing bra and Frida Mom for her underwear.

The 35-year-old Grammy winner, hilariously, credited her hair and makeup to @exhaustion, which many mothers could relate to. She, also, included a snippet of her track, "Not the End of the World," in the photo. Clearly, Katy is adjusting to the challenges of being a new mom.

Perry has been a prominent figure at VMAs. She collected memorable moments at the annual award show over the years.

Katy Perry first attended the MTV VMAs in 2008. She walked at the red carpet with Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus. The "California Gurls" singer, also, hosted the event in 2017.

Although she missed the first-ever virtual VMAs on Sunday, Perry was undoubtedly happy to be at home with Daisy Dove. Perry and fiancé Orlando Bloom welcomed their first child together on August 26. They named her after one of the singer's latest songs, "Daisies."

Katy and the Lord of the Rings star announced the arrival of their daughter in a black-and-white snap of Daisy Dove's little fingers grasping Bloom's finger while Perry held on to her baby's wrist. The singer shared the photo on UNICEF's official social media accounts as the couple wished to raise awareness and funds for the health and safety of pregnant women and newborns.

In the couple's statement shared by UNICEF, the "Roar" singer said not all parents are like them who had an easy birthing experience. Many pregnant women and newborn die every day from preventable causes and many more are at risk because of the current pandemic.

As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom set up a donation page for the cause. They aim to help expecting mothers and newborn babies to have access to trained health workers and quality healthcare.
