Liam Payne has many things to celebrate in the past few days. The One Direction member confirmed that he and his girlfriend, Maya Henry, are, now, engaged.

Payne made an appearance on Good Morning America on Thursday. The hosts started the interview with a congratulation on Liam's engagement. After weeks of speculations, Payne responded, "We're just really happy!" confirming that he is indeed engaged.

The "Stack It Up" singer added it was great experiencing so many firsts in his life now. Aside from his engagement, Liam is, also, thrilled that his son, Bear, started attending school for the first time this week. The 27-year-old singer shares his three-year-old son with ex-girlfriend and former X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole.

Payne and Henry sparked engagement rumors last week after the 20-year-old model was spotted wearing a huge diamond ring when she and Liam were out on a romantic dinner date in London. Reports have it that Liam proposed to Maya with a $3.5 million diamond ring.

A source close to Payne told The Sun that the singer is not in a rush to tie the knot but he wanted to show his commitment to Henry by proposing to her now. The couple has been quarantining together in London. The insider added living together during lockdown made Liam realize that the Texas-born model is the one for him.

Liam Payne first met Henry at a meet-and-greet event of One Direction in 2015. Maya was only 15 at the time and a huge fan of the "What Makes You Beautiful" hitmakers.

The "Strip That Down" singer and Henry got linked romantically in August 2018, after Liam broke up with Cole. They made their relationship public in September 2019. In his Instagram post at the time, Liam credited Maya as the one who helped him get over a dark period in his life and put a smile back on his face.

Meanwhile, Liam Payne, also, performed his song "Midnight" on GMA. He was asked about the much-awaited One Direction reunion as well.

Payne is not closing his door for a possible 1D reunion even though their 10th-anniversary celebration of the group just passed. The English singer said he didn't know much about the reunion but added that he received birthday messages from all the members, indicating that the members are still keeping in touch with each other.

In July, One Direction and their fans celebrated the group's 10th anniversary. Members Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson took to social media to remember the day that their group was formed.

They expressed how grateful they are to their fans, who they said continue to support them until today. One Direction, also, released a commemorative video as well as an interactive website for their fans.
