Prince Charles will soon become the King of the United Kingdom and all of its Commonwealth countries. When Queen Elizabeth passes away, the Heir Apparent will inherit all the authority of the British Monarch.

However, he might meet the "biggest challenge" of the British Monarchy upon his ascension. A royal expert speculated that he might face the "end" of the monarchy, according to the Daily Express.

Speaking on his platform, Royal Rota's Chris Ship "warned" the British Royal Family that more Commonwealth countries might decide to drop the reigning British Monarch as their head of state. He argued that many of these countries are likely not admitting this in public "out of respect" for the Queen.

The host added that Commonwealth countries choosing to become "republics" might become Prince Charles' biggest "challenge." He, also, asserted that they may drop the British monarch as their head of state when Queen Elizabeth is no longer around.

Ship continued that there 16 countries have continued to keep Queen Elizabeth as their head of state. He countered, however, that many of these nations are "very far away."

Later on, the expert reflected that it might now be the "time" for these countries to say that they want to become "fully independent." He noted that they may have already decided to have their own "native" head of state.

The speculations come after Barbados announced their decision to drop Prince Charles' mother, Queen Elizabeth, as their head. Earlier this week, the country's Governor-General Sandra Mason released an official statement, revealing their intentions to move "toward full sovereignty" and become a republic, according to ABC News.

Their plans will take in effect on November 30, 2021, as Barbados marks its 55th anniversary of independence from the British Empire. The publication recalled that this has since marked the first time in about 30 years that a Commonwealth country decided to become a republic.

Chris Ship said that Barbados has a "convincing argument" why they want to cut ties with the British Royal Family, whether it may be Queen Elizabeth or Prince Charles. He stated that Commonwealth countries "were built" out of the British empire's ashes, adding that severing the colonial years makes total sense.

Royal commentator Lizzie Robinson, then, responded to the host's speculations. She quoted Buckingham Palace's official statement following Barbados' announcement.

The Queen's camp acknowledged the Commonwealth country's decision. They said that it is a "matter for the Government," as well as the "people." Robinson suggested that the British Royal Family is saying that these countries have the power to decide what they want to do moving "forward."
