"Rainbow Six Quarantine" could reportedly arrive this year, according to a new listing. Ubisoft previously said the game could arrive in the fiscal year of 2020 to 2021. While the listing could be anything, it is not at all bad, considering that it gives fans something to look forward to before the year ends.

The latest information about the release date of "Rainbow Six Quarantine" came from an Australian retailer Gorilla Gaming. The retailer lists the release date of the popular Tom Clancy game on December 18, 2020. Release dates leaked by retailers are not new in the gaming industry.

There are times when embargoed details are leaked on pre-order pages earlier than the official schedule. Interestingly, retailers also have the habit of putting dates in for games as some kind of placeholders. Also, it is worth mentioning that Gorilla Games is not as popular as chains like Gamestop or EB Games, so at this point, it is hard to tell whether or not it is privy to this kind of information.

"Rainbow Six Siege" was released in December 2015, so there is some sort of precedent for the listed release of "Rainbow Six Quarantine" on Gorilla Gaming. The December 18 release date is too close to Christmas and if the game is indeed arriving on the said date, then it is highly likely that an official announcement could happen very soon.

"Rainbow Six Siege" is one of the top-earners of Ubisoft in 2020. The game has a solid player base and the upcoming "Rainbow Six Quarantine" is set to capitalize on that newfound player base. The forthcoming offers a new cooperative setup assigning three players to help in the containment of an alien parasite in the country.

"Rainbow Six Quarantine" extends the foundation "Outbreak" established. The mode was a hit, but it was just for a limited time under Operation Chimera. Apart from this, the upcoming title has some tactical fundamentals with its older sibling developed by a new team supervised by the Ubisoft Montreal office.

Among these similarities include gunplay, destruction and gadgets but prepared for a three-player coop setting with AI opponents. "Rainbow Six Quarantine" was unveiled earlier and was scheduled to arrive this year. Later, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot told investors that it intends to release the game throughout its 2020 to 2021 fiscal year along with other projects.

The executive said that these projects have to be delayed to ensure extra development time. Based on Guillemot's statement, it means that "Rainbow Six Quarantine" would release between now and March 2021. "Rainbow Six Quarantine" is confirmed to arrive on Playstation 4, PC and Xbox One. Its release window also implies that it could be available on Xbox Series X and PS5.
