Melania Trump has become one of today's fashion icons. The public and media have always looked into her fashion choices, particularly when making appearances.

Stylists and fashion experts said that the First Lady always preferred bright-toned, sleek, and daring dresses in the past. Recently, though, an expert claimed that she made "sartorial changes" to look more "serious," according to the Daily Express.

Gianni Casagrande of Mode in Pelle stated that the U.S. President's wife seemingly began changing her signature style after Donald Trump's inauguration in 2017. He argued, however, that the changes likely started even before the 2016 presidential race.

He continued that Melania Trump has now moved away from the "fun-loving part" image to a more "serious political figure." She has since opted to wear more conservative pieces, which suggests her aim to appear more "in position."

Despite the "striking" changes, though, Casagrande noted that the First Lady still seemingly incorporates a few of her "signature features." These, reportedly, include choosing to wear form-fitting pieces and bright-colored accessories.

The stylist, then, asserted that Melania "clearly" went straight for the "conservative elegance," adding that she might have taken inspirations from her predecessors, including "Jackie O." Gianni Casagrande, later on, said that most of the fashion pieces that Melania Trump wears are from Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren, and Roksanda Ilincic.

But, whatever she chooses, the expert countered that Melania has always utilized her fashion statements to send a "strong message" to her audience. While Casagrande believes that the message is about the First Lady's character and personality, others speculate that she is sending much deeper messages.

Business Insider listed all the times the former model appeared to send subtle messages with the use of her style and sartorial choices. As explained, it makes total sense why she would do it considering that her public appearances "never fail" to spark speculations and controversies.

In her unauthorized biography of Melania Trump, Free, Melania, Kate Bennett said that there are "no coincidences" with the First Lady's fashion choices. She, reportedly, believes that there is always an underlying message.

Despite the continued theories and speculations, Donald Trump's wife never "vocalized" anything to explain her fashion pieces and style choices. But, her stylist for the State of the Union in 2019 revealed that, for the First Lady's look during the event, they focused more on the appearance as a whole rather than incorporating a political message in it.
