BLACKPINK's latest song “Lovesick Girls” is a certified hit. Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa's new music video was just released five days ago, and it already garnered over 120million views on YouTube.

While receiving criticism will always be a part of an idol’s career, the case for BLACKPINK’s “Lovesick Gils” is more serious. In fact, YG Entertainment is set to delete a couple of scenes from Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa’s new hit because of the backlash.

BLACKPINK received hate over Jennie’s outfit in the “Lovesick Girls” music video. Korean Health and Medical Workers' Union complained after seeing the 24-year-old singer and rapper wearing a sexy nurse outfit in one of the scenes

Jennie can be seen sporting a tight-fit white mini dress, with full makeup and messy hair in the MV. The Korean Health and Medical Workers' Union said that Jennie’s outfit is “far from realistic” and claimed that it is sexualizing the portrayal of nurses.

The Korean Health and Medical Workers' Union then urged YG Entertainment to correct the issue. After learning about the complaint, the agency released a statement noting that it will “delete all scenes that show the nurse uniform” in BLACKPINK’s “Lovesick Girls” music video. The company shared that it will replace the MV with an edited version as soon as possible.

YG Entertainment apologized to all the medical staff. “We feel a heavy sense of responsibility about this issue and we apologize to all the nurses that felt uncomfortable because of this,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, YouTuber JerryRic decided to interview some Koreans to get their opinion on Jennie’s nurse outfit in the “Lovesick Girls” music video. Some admitted that they were uncomfortable when they saw the scene, and others shared that they have family members who are in that profession, and believed that the BLACKPINK star’s outfit has changed the image of nurses.

However, some interviewees didn’t see any problem in Jennie’s nurse outfit. One even pointed out that male idols wear school uniforms all the time. She said that it’s not a good representation of students, but they don’t get criticized for it.

“I don’t think Jennie stereotyped wearing that outfit because male idols also pull off their shirts to perform. If that’s the case, then male idols shouldn’t be wearing school uniforms, and why is it that only female idols get attacked?” she said.
