There is little doubt that Black Widow will be all about Natasha Romanoff. After all, it has taken several years before Scarlett Johansson's character finally got her own standalone film that would focus solely on her. However, that doesn't mean that Nat will not have any interactions with the other Avengers. A new report reveals that Jeremy Renner could reprise his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick.

It's no secret that Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton are close friends who have worked together for several years in SHIELD. This was immediately confirmed in the first Avengers movie where Nat tried to find a way to free Clint from Loki's influence. From there, Black Widow and Hawkeye were some of the best buddies ever introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So is it possible that Clint will reunite with Nat in her solo film?

Industry insider Amit Chaudhari recently shared some intel on Twitter revealing what could happen in Black Widow. Interestingly, it was suggested that Jeremy Renner is expected to show up in the film as Hawkeye although the character's role in the movie was not revealed.

"It's still not fully confirmed whether it's a new scene, a flashback scene or a post credit scene," the leak read. Nevertheless, the news had fans wondering what could happen to Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff in Black Widow.

There are speculations that Black Widow could reveal how Natasha Romanoff initially met Clint Barton in a flashback sequence. Others yet believe that the cameo will tease on Jeremy Renner's own Hawkeye series that will air on Disney+ in the future. However, the most popular theory is connected to an ongoing inside joke between the two characters.

In the first Avengers film, Natasha Romanoff commented about their ongoing fight against the Chitauri, saying the Battle of New York was "just like Budapest all over again." Clint Barton then shot back that they remembered Budapest differently.

Interestingly, the reference to Budapest is brought up again in other Marvel Cinematic Universe films. All the mentions have caused fans to be curious about the incident and now people are hoping that this will be revealed in Black Widow. However, it is important to point out that Jeremy Renner's casting has not yet been confirmed so it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

Black Widow has once again been pushed back to a later release date. The film is now expected to hit theaters on May 7, 2021.
