Earlier this year at the EA Play, game developer Respawn Entertainment confirmed that the hit battle royale title "Apex Legends" is scheduled to release on Nintendo Switch sometime in the Fall of 2020. The specific release date of the game in the said port has yet to be announced. Interestingly, it appears that Respawn Entertainment is planning to release the game in the hybrid console soon, considering the official rating given by the American Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB).

The ESRB rating of "Apex Legends" is not especially noteworthy. The battle royale title earned a T rating for including realistic gunfire, massive explosions, blood and detailed finishing moves. However, the timing of the rating's availability aligns with the teasers for the game's Season 7 and the ongoing cross-play beta test.

Some fans believe that "Apex Legends" could arrive on Nintendo Switch alongside Season 7. While it is not official, it is a smart move when perceived from a marketing perspective. In the early part of this month, "Apex Legends" Game Director Chad Grenier mentioned that the team is still working on the Nintendo Switch port and declined to provide further details.

Meanwhile, Respawn Entertainment continues to roll out fresh content to the popular battle royale title. Fans are waiting for the release of the game's Season 7 this month. A Halloween event that would introduce new skins in "Apex Legends" was earlier leaked. The game is also rumored to receive a new mode and a new event presumably starting on October 22, according to a data miner.

Based on re game developer's recent actions, it is apparent that it intends to improve "Apex Legends" in various ways. Design Director Jason McCord shared that a real-time damage meter, which a quality of life improvement in the game is being considered for the battle royale title. The feature would provide players the chance to track the amount of damage they have dealt with without the need to wait for it at the end of the match.

At this point, the timeline for the release of "Apex Legends" on Nintendo Switch is a bit unclear. The game is certainly one of the stand-out titles in the current battle royale craze in the industry when it comes to player count. The long-awaited cross-play is now available in "Apex legends." This means the game is now playable on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
