AMD recently launched its new Zen 3-based Ryzen 5000 series CPUs, and the gaming community is waiting with bated breath as the much-awaited official launch of the AMD Big Navi Radeon RX 6000 XT draws near. With less than ten days from the unveiling, a new leak surfaced online, revealing some details about the Big Navi, including its mind-blowingly high average clock speed.

The latest leak is courtesy of Software Engineer Peter Schur, who has been providing the industry with pretty reliable leaks in the past. On his Twitter account, the industry insider shared that the AMD Big Navi Radeon Rx 6000XT would feature a staggeringly high average game clock speed of 2.4 GHz. Fundamentally, the highest clock speed for any consumer graphics cards in the industry, so far, is offered by the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT with a base clock of 1.6 GHZ and a game clock speed of 1.7 GHz.

Game clock differs from the regular metrics of Boost Clock and Base Clock. Boost Clock equates to the absolute maximum the card could achieve without overclocking. While the Base Clock is the lowest speed, the Game Clock offers a more accurate speed the graphics card would run at most times.

As per Hot Hardware, since what is mentioned in the leak is the game clock speed, it is possible that the AMD Big Navi Radeon RX 6000 XT could deliver even higher speeds for the maximum boost clock. The upcoming AMG Bid Navi is based on the latest RDNA 2 architecture, similar to that of the Xbox Series X that delivers a fixed GPU clock of 1.825 GHz.

Schur also shared that the AMD Big Navi Radeon RX 6000 XT features 255W of total graphics power. It means that it would require less power than the Nvidia RTX 3080 and a little more than the Nvidia RTX 3070. Aside from the XT suffix, the insider also leaked that the upcoming GPU features 16 GB of GDRR6 RAM, confirming earlier rumors.

It is worth mentioning that while these details about the AMD Big Navi Radeon RX 6000 XT are exciting, these are not official. It is smarter to take this latest leak with a pinch of salts. Consumers have less than a couple of weeks until AMD finally reveals its RDNA 2-powered Big Navi on October 28. The upcoming graphics card series is anticipated to release on November 5.
