The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is reportedly set to release the refreshed mid-range tablet iPad Air 4 on October 23 if the latest set of retailer listings and leaks are to go by.

The first leak came from industry insider Jon Prosser who shared an image of the iPad Air 4 listing at the Canadian Best Buy. The listing claimed that the device would be available on October 23. It is not yet confirmed if this date would apply to other regions, but Apple usually launches its products at the same time globally.

Aside from the Canadian Best Buy listing, Walmart joined the bandwagon. The retailer earlier opened up its order page for the new iPad Air 4. Walmart said delivered would start on October 23, aligning with Best Buy Canada's release date.

9to5Mac reports that several authorized Apple retailers in the U.K. also confirmed the October 23 release date of the iPad Air 4. Another evidence pointing to the imminent release of the iPad Air 4 is a recent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filing of Apple's fourth-generation tablet. The filing confirmed that the device is now approved to go on sales in the U.S.

Prosser, who has been correctly providing reliable Apple news in the past, also claimed that the iPad Air 4 would be available for pre-order on October 16. The Cupertino tech giant showed off the fourth-generation iPad Air at its event on September 15. There are rumors that the company might hold off the tablet's release to give way for the arrival of the iPhone 12.

Apple is advertising the new iPad Air 4 as a tablet that consumers could use for work and play. The killer feature of the upcoming device is definitely the A14 Bionic chip at its heart. The new iPad Air is the first non-pro model to introduce a full-screen design.

It is also the first time that Apple is offering five color choices for the iPad Air. Consumers can choose from rose, gold, sky blue, green, silver, and space gray colors of the new iPad Air 4. The 64GB configuration of the iPad Air 4 would retail at $599 while the maxed out 256 GB configuration costs $879.

At this point, nothing is official about the release date of the iPad Air 4. But, based on the series of listings and the FCC filing, it looks like the new tablet will be available before October ends.
