The Chicago Bulls are looking to add fresh blood to their roster and get that chance at the 2020 NBA Draft next month. With the rights to the fourth overall pick, the Bulls would seem to be in a good position to snag one. The only problem is that this year’s draft class is not as strong compared to previous years.

That in mind, the Bulls fancy either Anthony Edwards or LaMelo Ball but have low chances of doing so at their spot. If Chicago is determined to get either player, they need to pull some strings and move up the draft. The safest would be to be at the second spot, a right that belongs to the Golden State Warriors. The Minnesota Timberwolves are selecting first.

Aside from Edwards and Ball, James Wiseman is the only notable player that has piqued the interest of NBA teams. But based on the buzz going around, Chicago wants to add a scorer or solid player – a reason why Edwards or Ball is their priority.

For that to happen, the Bulls need to trade up to improve their chances per Tom Haberston when he appeared on the “Bulls Talk Podcast with K.C. Johnson.” The T-Wolves and the Warriors are believed to be open to trading their rights although it will depend on what is on the table. The only player the Bulls are unlikely to trade is Zach LaVine. Hence, only Lauri Markkanen, Thaddeus Young, Coby White, Kris Dunn and Wendel Carter Jr. could be packaged with their fourth overall pick and future picks.

Like the Bulls, the Timberwolves are looking for a scorer. Hence, White and Dunn could be a plausible offer. On the part of the Warriors, filling in their big man void is a need. Markkanen could be worth checking though adding Young may boost their chances. Carter is also an intriguing prospect for the Dubs rather than going with James Wiseman.

In all, the Timberwolves and the Warriors may opt for someone who has already played NBA ball rather than taking a chance on a rookie. But that can only go down with the right assets in place.

The Bulls are hoping to finally end a streak of missing the NBA playoffs this 2020-21 season with new head coach Billy Donovan. The decision-making process could include that, meaning it also depends on what the former OKC Thunder coach has planned.
