Netflix has been teasing the coming of Cobra Kai Season 3. Fans have been waiting for more than a year to see the continuation of the battle between Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka).

Now the long wait is over after Netflix dropped a new teaser for Cobra Kai Season 3. Here, it revealed the upcoming season's official release date and the production of Cobra Kai Season 4.

According to Devdiscourse, the third season may deal with the aftermath of the previous season's high school brawl between the two dojos. Sadly, Miguel (Xolo Mariduena) took the consequence, leaving him in a critical condition.

Season 2 ended with major cliffhangers that left fans waiting for answers. Several students of Johnny and Daniel were left in the hospital, while Miguel was on life support.

This incident, along with the request of Daniel's wife, made him decide to give up karate and Miyagi-Do. With this, there are assumptions Cobra Kai Season 3 will feature a time jump instead of picking up the events that the previous season left off.

Inverse stressed the new season might pick up the days, weeks, or months after Season 2. It is also possible that it won't feature a time jump, although fans may not see Johnny around for, at least, the first episode, especially the teaser showed he's currently imprisoned.

In an interview with Collider, Zabka believed his role would continuously grow and encounter several ups and downs and even sideways. Johnny wasn't doing too well at the end of Season 2, and the new season would pick up a little later after what happened.

So, fans are about to see the aftermath of those events in Johnny's life. In addition, Cobra Kai co-creator, Josh Herald, confirmed at the Comic-Con 2019 that Cobra Kai Season 3 would be inspired by The Karate Kid 2 plotline.

In the movie, Mr. Miyagi and the young LaRusso returned to the initial's hometown. Herald explained Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do "dig a little bit" into their origins. So, in the TV series, fans would see LaRusso making his way to Okinawa.

LaRusso may begin a new journey of self-discovery after everything that happened in the previous season. However, it remains to be seen if he's going to bring his daughter or his star student, Robby (Tanner Buchanan), on this trip.

Cobra Kai Season 3 is set to be out on January 8, 2021, on Netflix. Cobra Kai Season 4 may soon follow after the end of Season 3, as it is now in the works.
