Jeremy Lin is hoping to make an NBA return and rumors are tying up the 32-year-old guard to a couple of teams. Ironically, these are teams where the American-Asian played for before.

Report coming from Chinese media claims that the Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets are interested in bringing back Lin to beef up their rotation. Lin spent last season with the Beijing Ducks with no takers after the 2018-19 season. He was fresh from winning an NBA title with the Toronto Raptors although the Harvard University graduate hardly saw action in that run.

Last month, Lin revealed plans of possibly making an NBA return. He announced that he was leaving the Beijing Ducks with hopes of hooking up with a team once more. However, pundits feel that Lin will have his work cut out for him. With a lot of free agent guards who are younger than him, there is no telling what his chances are this offseason.

"Every morning I would wake up at 4 a.m. or 5 a.m., thinking, thinking and thinking all the time. In the end, although Shougang [the Ducks] have treated me incredibly well ... giving me everything I wanted, in the end, I feel that I still have NBA dreams. I still have time to play [there] and I have to chase this," Lin said at the time.

Though they need further verification, Hoops Hype transcribed a message from China alleging that the Warriors and the Nets have an interest in Lin. He is likely to come off the bench if both sides discuss a possible stint. The best he can expect is a veteran’s minimum with either club.

Lin started his NBA career with the Dubs during the 2010-11 season. Though he hardly saw action, it was with the New York Knicks where he broke ground. That was the birth of “Linsanity,” the cager’s ticket to stardom. He would be a journeyman from there, having his best years with the Houston Rockets.

Injuries have held back Lin though he proved with the Atlanta Hawks that he could still play at the NBA level. After getting waived and being picked up by the Raptors, Lin has hardly shown the prowess that endeared him to NBA fans.

For now, news tying Lin to the Dubs and the Nets should be taken with a grain of salt. Though adding him makes sense, it is the closest that Linsanity has at possibly making an NBA return for now.
