AMD is set to launch its AMD Big Navi series on Oct 28 officially, but a new leak claims that Nvidia is working on a couple of brand new SKUs purportedly the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, to challenge the red team's flagship graphics card lineup.

The new set of details about Nvidia's alleged plan was shared by industry insider Kopite7kimi and reported by Wccftech. On his tweet, the reliable tipster claimed that a couple of brand new GA102 GPU-based graphics cards are being prepared to compete against the AMD Radeon RX 6800 series. These alleged Ampere GPUs are rumored to be the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti and the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti.

Wccftech reported that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is based on the GA102-250-A1 GPU core. It claims that in terms of performance, the graphics card will be between that of the RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 with both being GA102 GPU based graphics cards. For its specs, the RTX 3080 Ti allegedly features 9984 CUDA cores, which is reportedly close to the RTX 3090's 10496 CUDA cores.

Based on the insider's information, the site noted that the Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti features a 15% core count increase than the RTX 3080 and 5% less core count than the RTX 3090. The upcoming graphics card should be 5 to 10% faster than the RTX 3080, a speed adequate to outperform the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT or the Radeon RX 6900 XT, the site claimed. For its memory, the upcoming graphics card reportedly features GDDR6 386-bit bus interface.

The other forthcoming Ampere graphics card is reportedly called the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. The card is anticipated to feature the GA102-150-A1 GPU, a major step up from the GA104 that the standard graphics cards feature. According to the tipster, the RTX 3070 Ti houses 10 GB of GDDR6X memory with a TDP of 320 watts. The graphics card is Nvidia's emergency product that would compete against the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XL, the tipster revealed.

Additionally, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti reportedly utilizes the PG132-SKU35 board, which is unlike the board earlier SKUs are using. The said emergency product allegedly features 7424 CUDA cores, which is 26% more than the CUDA cores of RTX 3070 and just 9% less than the cores of RTX 3080. This latest leak could explain the earlier report that Nvidia cancelled the release of Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 10 GB and GeForce RTX 3080 20 GB.

Nvidia has not yet issued a statement regarding this claim. Since it is unofficial, it is smarter to take this report with a pinch of salt.
