Oscar Isaac has once again proven that he is one of the most in-demand stars in Hollywood. The Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor has just been cast as Marc Spector in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series Moon Knight. In addition to that, the highly anticipated Disney+ show has found its director in Crash helmer, Mohamed Diab.

There is little doubt that the casting of Marc Spector in Moon Knight was one of the most exciting things that Marvel fans were looking forward to this year. After all, there have been several speculations over who could take on the role of the comic book hero who is sometimes described as Marvel's version of Batman.

Interestingly, big names like Keanu Reeves, Shia LaBeouf, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and more have reportedly been considered for the lead part in Moon Knight. However, it looks like Marvel Studios has decided on someone who has already worked with a major Disney franchise in the past.

According to The Wrap, Oscar Isaac is currently in negotiations to play Marc Spector in Moon Knight. If a deal is made, the Dune star will be taking on the lead role in the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

Not surprisingly, fans are excited about the casting considering that this will be the first time that Marc Spector will be played in a live-action project. In addition to that, playing Moon Knight appears to be a fitting role for Oscar Isaac, who is known for his powerful portrayals of memorable characters like the narcissistic Nathan in Ex Machina and the ambitious pilot Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy movies. With that in mind, people are already looking forward to seeing Isaac as the Marvel superhero as soon as possible.

Interestingly, it looks like Moon Knight is moving forward faster now that the series has found its lead star. According to Deadline, the highly anticipated show has also nabbed a director to work on the upcoming episodes. Crash director Mohamed Diab has reportedly agreed to work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe series although Disney and Marvel Studios have not yet confirmed the Egyptian filmmaker's involvement. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

It may still take some time before fans can see Oscar Isaac as Marc Spector in Moon Knight since the series has not yet been given an official production start date or a release date. In the meantime, people can expect to see Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides in Denis Villeneuve's film adaptation of Dune, which is currently scheduled for release on October 1, 2021.
