It's no secret that The Mandalorian Season 2 will be all about Din Djarin's adventures with Baby Yoda. However, the new teaser for the second chapter of the Star Wars series may have revealed that it's going to be more than just the search of The Child's people. Interestingly, there are speculations that the new season will focus on the Darksaber and how it eventually finds its way back to its real owner.
The Darksaber was one of the major surprises in the first season of The Mandalorian. After all, nobody expected that it would turn out to be Moff Gideon's hidden weapon since it was not revealed until the final moment of the season finale as the finale cut his way out of the destroyed TIE Fighter. Needless to say, the Darksaber's appearance had fans wondering if Gideon would actually use it against an enemy in The Mandalorian Season 2. Luckily, the new teaser suggests that the weapon could take center stage later this month.
The new teaser opens with the scene where Moff Gideon is revealed to be alive as he cuts his way out of the remains of the TIE Fighter he was piloting. Although there is just a brief glimpse at the Darksaber again, fans have started speculating that there was a good reason why The Mandalorian Season 2 wanted to remind people of the weapon.
So what exactly could happen with the Darksaber? People believe it has a lot to do with the arrival of two characters from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It has already been confirmed that Katee Sackhoff will play the live-action version of Bo-Katan Kryze, who was the last known owner of the Darksaber. Additionally, Bo-Katan might reunite with Ahsoka Tano in the Disney+ series and could be played by Rosario Dawson.
Although the main focus of The Mandalorian Season 2 is still set to be Din Djarin and Baby Yoda, the series could also feature a subplot about the Darksaber and how Moff Gideon got his hands on it in the first place. While some believe the show would reveal that Gideon forcibly took it from Bo-Katan Kryze in a flashback scene, there is also a possibility the Star Wars series will show how Bo-Katan reclaims the weapon.
