There are no concrete details yet to support that the imagined superfight between Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya will ever happen although the two fighters appeared ready for the epic clash. But the last say on the matter is on Dana White, and the UFC chief could unintentionally cause a delay.

Jones and Adesanya will need to wait for White's decision and while doing so, it's quite apparent that the two superstars are raring for a bruising showdown. Bones, for instance, is not booked for a fight anytime soon.

The former light heavyweight champ moved a division higher but his prospective opponents are not readily available. For Jones, the most inviting fight date is against Adesanya and a slugfest with the Kiwi could happen in 2021 if things will move in the right direction.

Already, Adesanya said he is willing to relinquish his middleweight crown to get a shot at Jones. If the latter will move back to his former spot, then The Last Stylebender will do his part. He will try to arrange a meet with Jan Blachowicz, who inherited Jones' title.

A win by Adesanya over Blachowicz will pave the way for the face-off with Bones, and according to MMA Junkie, the Nigerian native has a clear picture of how the fight is going to play out.

"I like fighting with no audience, but that fight, in particular, I want there to be an audience ... I just feel it'll be glorious in a packed stadium with 75,000 people," said the UFC champ.

He reminded too that when the Adesanya vs. Jones is set in stone, the attention will be focused on the fighter with the title, and the 31-year-old it will be him, being the A-side figure.

It was clear though that for the mega-fight to become a real deal, Adesanya will need to secure a fight date with Blachowicz and snatch the crown from the light heavyweight champion. Reports said that could be arranged in early 2021 but White suggested a delay could happen.

Adesanya has made the preparations to challenge for the title that Blachowicz holds and two fighting it out certainly generates excitement but the recent UFC development does not favor an immediate match up. That's because Glover Teixeira scored an impressive win over Thiago Santos, and according to White, the UFC veteran won a title-fight ticket.

White admitted that after watching Teixeira putting up an incredible fight and winning, he needs to figures out a UFC schedule that will pit Teixeira against Blachowicz. Per the report from The Daily Mail, White is prioritizing a date for the two fighters in Las Vegas, and Adesanya will have to wait who will emerge the victor.

If the UFC chief follows through, then Jones having his day with Adesanya will need to wait a bit longer, possibly up to the middle of 2021.
