Mohamed Salah remains in self-isolation and little has been known on the status of the Egyptian footballer. Salah tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and it is believed that he had contracted it when he attended his brother’s wedding.

However, Salah finally opened up after isolating himself from the coronavirus on Twitter. The 28-year-old thanked everyone for their well-wishes. He also mentioned that he is looking forward to coming back on the field.

"I’d like to thank everyone for the supportive messages and well wishes. I’m confident I’ll be back on the field soon," Salah said.

The latest on Salah is that he is dealing with a mild coronavirus symptom according to Egypt team doctor Mohamed Abou Elela. Since he is in isolation, Salah will miss Liverpool FC’s game against Leicester City this coming weekend.

Depending on how well he recovers, the 28-year-old could be back on the field by Wednesday at the earliest. The Red face Atalanta in a Champions League match. If he remains indisposed, Salah could instead make his return next weekend against Brighton.

Though that should be good news for Mo Salah fans, it remains that there are people who remain disappointed at how he handled himself recently. Salah came under fire after he was shown dancing and interacting with guests without a face mask.

Among those who frowned at Salah’s actions is former Egypt striker Mido. Not only did Salah act carelessly, he did not take into consideration that he was supposed to play for Egypt days after. Mido gave these comments when he spoke to Al-Nahar TV.

“Mohamed Salah made a big mistake by attending his brother's wedding a few days before the Egyptian national team match. He showed great negligence with the steps taken to prevent the coronavirus and the result was that he was infected," Mido said.

There were more than 800 people on hand at the wedding of Mo Salah’s brother. For Mido, the 28-year-old should have not been there at all. But being a family affair, the Egyptian star probably knew that it was an occasion he would not dare miss.

With all that done and over with, the important thing to monitor right now is when Salah can return to action. Jurgen Klopp already has his fair share of problems with several players unavailable for the Reds. Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Fabinho are injured while Thiago and Sadio Mane are out also because of COVID-19 related symptoms.
