Markieff Morris remains a free agent though the buzz going around is that he wants to return to the Los Angeles Lakers. Though Marc Gasol has signed with the Lakers, the room was made with the exit of Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee.

Unless a turn of events happens, the 31-year-old forward is likely to return with the Lakers for the 2020-21 season. However, Morris does have options in front of him – including a possible reunion with his twin brother Marcus with the crosstown Los Angeles Clippers.

The playing time of Morris with the Lakers is up in the air. Aside from Gasol, another key addition was Montrezl Harrell. Harrell agreed to a two-year deal with the Lakers, further ramping up their frontline.

Compared to last season, Morris is likely to see his minutes dwindle. That will still depend on the performance of the Lakers big men. Despite these possibilities, Morris is open to returning with the purple and gold and possibly win another NBA plum, the Los Angeles Times reported.

But until a deal is made official, anything is possible for Morris. Among his options include joining the Clippers and teaming up with brother Marcus to possibly make an NBA title run.

The last time the Morris twins played side-by-side was with the Phoenix Suns from 2013- to 2016. With their sights on LaMarcus Aldridge, Phoenix traded away Marcus Morris along with Reggie Bullock and Danny Granger to the Detroit Pistons, NBA.com reported. The Suns were unable to acquire Aldridge who ended up joining the San Antonio Spurs.

If the Morris twins reunite with the LA Clippers, the two could become the first brothers to win an NBA title on the same team. Markieff has the experience, having played a key role with the Lakers last season despite his spot minutes. He could get more playing time under head coach Tyronn Lue as well. Lue is looking for new big men, particularly someone to fill in the void left by Harrell.

The Clippers remain a team to reckon with this coming season. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are still there, same with Marcus Morris. Morris agreed to a four-year $64 million deal that indicates he will be staying there for the next couple of years.

Markieff could factor this in before deciding which team to play for next season. But if he wants another title, the Clippers would not be a bad club to consider. Making it sweeter is achieving that feat playing alongside his brother Marcus – something that could make them the first duo to do so in NBA history.
