J-Hope is a full-blooded performer. ARMYs who have watched BTS’s concerts shared that the “Ego” rapper belongs to the stage -- even Jin said that as well.

Before becoming a member of BTS, J-Hope was a part of the underground dance team Neuron and took dance classes at Gwangju Music Academy. Before his debut, he is already known for his dancing skills and won various local dance competitions. He even placed first in a national dance competition in 2008.

Because of his background, a lot of professional dancers have been impressed by J-Hope’s skills. An anonymous dancer from theqoo described the BTS star’s dancing as “light stone,” which means he is light like he can fly, but can also do the hard moves like a stone.

“J-Hope’s biggest advantage is that his basics are so good, and his line is pretty. [His] biggest strength is that he can create ‘swag’ through the combination of his talent and ability to express the beat of the song with his body,” they said.

The professional dancer pointed out that J-Hope separates his movements every second, which shows the step's clarity as if he dances frame-by-frame. They also noted that the BTS star keeps straight and diagonal lines all over his body, which is essential in dance.

The dancer also added that J-Hope has “the ability to use a wider range of mobility.” He/she was also impressed with how high JH’s kick was.

Meanwhile, never-before-seen clips of J-Hope showcased his undeniable talent. The throwback videos confirmed that the “Chicken Noodle Soup” hitmaker is not only a born dancer, but he is someone who worked extremely hard to hone his skills. The childhood friend even shared that the BTS star was always good at dancing, but he never stopped practicing.

J-Hope’s high school teacher also confirmed his "Dance Leader" status. He said that before the BTS star became successful, his talent had always been above average.

A former idol trainer also explained why J-Hope is the main dancer of BTS. He summed up the idol's dance style with one word: precision. He also pointed out that the BTS star is very effortless when he dances, making it appear that the choreography is easier than it actually is.

Aside from being on BTS's "Rap Line," J-Hope is also a part of the "Dance Line" with Jimin and Jungkook. They are better known as the 3J.
