Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell) and Landon Kirby's (Aria Shahghasemi) fate remains in question entering Legacies season 3. The future of these two is still unknown following the huge twist that transpired at the end of season 2. Everyone is racing against the time in order to save them.
Hope is currently in a dream-like state after trying to save Josie Saltzman (Kaylee Bryant), while Rafael Waithe (Peyton Alex Smith) stabbed Landon with a golden arrow. Both of them are in jeopardy in Legacies season 3, but it looks like the fantasy drama is keeping things under wrap.
In fact, the synopsis didn't tease what's next for them. The title of the premiere episode is "We're Not Worthy," and it'll see Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis) sending the students for their first-ever field day to handle some urgencies at the Salvatore School.
However, a medieval monster suddenly shows up. This creature will challenge each of the students, leaving them struggling to guess who among them might be a worthy opponent. There's going to be a lot of twists and turns here, putting some lives in danger.
As per CarterMatt, one of the reasons why Hope and Landon weren't mentioned in the synopsis is because the script was written in the spring. It can be noted that the second installment halted its production earlier this year due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The premiere of Legacies season 3 was supposed to be part of season 2. The good thing is that there won't be too much change in the script and storylines despite the pandemic. The series is likely keeping things secret about Hope and Landon to further excite fans.
Even though details about the two remain scarce, the previously-released trailer revolved around them. The clip featured Rafael proposing a risky deal to save Landon, while the latter can be heard saying he won't be able to say his "final goodbye" to Hope.
Hope is still asleep when Legacies season 3 premieres. She fell unconscious after infiltrating Josie's mind to free her from dark impulses. The biggest concern now is how other characters could wake Hope up. They have to find ways to get her back before it's too late.
In another report, filming for the third installment kicked off back in October. Some behind-the-scenes photos from cast and crew teased some changes on the set due to the pandemic. All of them are required to follow strict health measures, including wearing masks and proper social distancing.
Legacies season 3 will be dropping its new episodes starting on Thursday, January 21, 2021, on The CW.
