Ellie Goulding remains active in her career as a singer and songwriter. Amid the pandemic crisis, she released her fourth studio album, Brightest Blue.

Apart from talking about her music, the 33-year-old artist, also, previously talked about her vegetarian diet and lifestyle. Cheat Sheet revisited the interview that happened more than two years ago, wherein Goulding discussed her fitness regime and practices.

Speaking to The Cut, the "Anything Could Happen" singer stated that she was trying to become a "full vegan." After spending most of her life as a vegetarian, she hoped to step up her diet by becoming a successful vegan.

Goulding said that she could be an athlete even without eating meat for protein when asked about her food choices. She explained that there is more protein in greens than in meat, causing her to resort more to these kinds of foods.

She, also, revealed that it all started when she understood where meat came from. She noted that it was a "concept quite hard to live with."

The same publication, later on, released how Ellie Goulding's foods in a day would look like. For her breakfast, she would start her day with a green smoothie, containing kale, cucumber, and water.

Throughout the day, the singer would have a "plain toast with a little butter." She explained that there are "vegan butters" available, like sunflower butters and soya spreads.

When working in the studio, she would have juices in the morning but on a minimal note. The "Lights" singer shared that such beverages have high sugar contents, causing her to limit the consumption. Nevertheless, she argued that it is still better than "eating refined sugar."

Ellie Goulding, then, shared some of her food "obsessions." She named butter as one and "green and detox teas," on the other hand. She pointed out, though, that being a vegetarian opens up many doors about "wellness, as well as the better ways to source protein other than meat.

In the end, she asserted that she is "all about balance." She claimed that one can always take good care of themselves "without going too overboard."

Ellie Goulding revealed, as well, that, while she continues living a healthy and meatless lifestyle, she does not persuade her husband to become one. She, then, explored some of the challenges of having a partner who is not a vegetarian. These include the restaurant choices and orders when they go out for a quick munch.

The singer tied the knot to Caspar Jopling in 2018. He is an art dealer at Sotheby's, according to The Sun.
