BLACKPINK's Jennie dominated this year's brand reputation rankings for girl group members. BLACKPINK also led the list for a good part of the year.

According to a report by All Kpop, BLACKPINK's Jennie topped the list of girl group members' brand reputation rankings six times this year. She first emerged on the No. 1 spot in March and reclaimed the throne in July. She maintained her position in August and slipped a few notches in September when she relinquished the position to Jisoo. She re-emerged in the top spot for the remaining months of the year, from October until December.

BLACKPINK also topped the monthly brand reputation rankings for girl groups five times this year. The collective power of Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose propelled the group to the No. 1 position from July to October. They reclaimed the spot this December to finish the year strong.

The Korean Business Research Institute releases its monthly brand reputation rankings for Kpop idols and other celebrities to gauge public perception of the artists. They analyze big data from media coverage, consumer participation, communication, and community awareness indexes to come up with their list, Soompi reported.

BLACKPINK's popularity this year comes as no surprise as they took the world by storm with their relentless barrage of great content for their fans. They staged three major comebacks this year and headlined their own Netflix documentary show entitled Light Up the Sky.

They broke YouTube viewing records for "How You Like That" and "Ice Cream". They collaborated with the likes of Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, and Cardi B. They were also recognized by Variety Hitmakers as Group of the Year. BLACKPINK also reached a new milestone on YouTube as the first Korean group to receive a Ruby Play Button. The honor is only given to YouTube content creators who reach 50 million subscribers, Koreaboo reported.

After an eventful 2020, BLACKPINK is gearing up for their first virtual concert entitled The SHOW which will be streamed on YouTube on January 31. The concert was initially set for December but YG Entertainment decided to push back the event owing to the spike of COVID-19 cases in South Korea.

It has recently been reported that Rose will be filming a music video for her solo debut this January. Lisa is expected to release her solo debut soon after. Jisoo is expected to work on her solo music after she finishes filming her first drama Snowdrop.
