BLACKPINK's Rose and Lisa are all set to make their solo debut.

According to a report by SBS News, YG Entertainment confirmed that Rose and Lisa will proceed with their much anticipated solo debuts early next year.

In their statement, the label announced that Rose would be the first to work on her music video in mid-January. Lisa is set to follow soon after.

Jisoo's solo debut will have to be put on hold, owing to her commitment to her first television drama. It can be recalled that she was cast in the lead role of Snowdrop where she will play the role of a university student from South Korea who accidentally encounters a spy from North Korea. Jung Hae In will play the lead role.

This will be Jisoo's first major drama role after cameo appearances on The Producers in 2015 and The Arthdal Chronicles in 2019.

It comes as no surprise that Rose will be the next to move forward with her solo promotions because she already completed recording for her album as early as June this year, Elite Daily reported.

However, BLACKPINK members reportedly agreed to prioritize BLACKPINK's group comebacks before embarking on their solo projects.

It can be recalled that Jennie made her solo debut through the song "SOLO" in 2018. The song became a massive hit and now has over 590 million views on YouTube.

BLACKPINK had a great year this year despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose had three major comebacks this year and released their first-ever full studio album.

BLACKPINK's THE ALBUM broke records for girl group album sales and charted over one million units sold. BLACKPINK also made its mark on the Guinness World Records for YouTube viewing when they released the track "How You Like That."

BLACKPINK continued their winning streak with a recognition from American magazine Variety, which recognized the group as the Hitmakers' Group of the Year.

BLACKPINK's Netflix documentary Light Up the Sky became an instant hit, bringing the Kpop idols closer to the global audience. There was even talk of a sequel to be produced by Netflix.

BLACKPINK proved their YouTube su[premacy this year by reaching 50 million subscribers and earning their Ruby Play button from the streaming platform, All Kpop reported.

Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose are currently preparing for their online concert THE SHOW, which will be streamed on YouTube on January 31.
