Business is expected to rebound in 2021 should the COVID-19 situation tone down and artificial intelligence remains one of the expected players in corporate development.

Increased AI Adoption

Companies have reported increased use of AI since the pandemic but experts believe this trend will last throughout the coming year.

With lockdowns still looming and businesses enduring closures, companies are searching for ways to accomplish more things without human interaction.

While AI is in use in several departments, industry analysts recommend companies identify which aspects of the business need AI adoption to ensure prioritization when integrating high-tech processes.

Natural Language Processing

Natural language processing has been revolutionizing as the linguistics and computer science subfield continues to impress analysts in natural language data.

Recently, San Francisco-based AI research laboratory OpenAI released the NLP model named GPT-3, which utilizes deep learning processes to produce human-like text.

Business experts believe the GPT-3 will help power many sectors and even growing small businesses. It is also expected that GPT-3 will reshape the future of AI in business owing to its generative value and potential.

Past NLP models were largely open source but GPT-3 provides technologists and business with a model that is easy to use in commercial settings.

Software engineer and scientist Jasmine Wang, who worked as a researcher at OpenAI in the past, said GPT-3 can be used in "countless ways" in the business realm. Startups can use it to create a new product or sell the NLP model's direct output.

Ethical AI

In the past, ethics was not a big topic among technologists as innovative programs and models seemed to overthrow talks about how the technology should be regulated.

However, industry experts believe that 2021 will be a big year in ethical AI as more employees, and especially consumers, demand proper regulation.

It is expected that companies planning to integrate artificial intelligence in their business will opt for AI partners that are committed to data and privacy ethics.

Enhanced Cybersecurity

With 2020 being a year of multiple large hacks and some of the biggest privacy infiltration by hackers cybercriminals, analysts are expecting companies to keep their guard up.

Aside from company executives' accounts, other company departments are expected to be attacked, which will drive businesses to integrate stronger cybersecurity  to protect both company and personal accounts.

Vulnerability to hacking and privacy breaches is expected to continue throughout 2021, but experts recommend expanding cybersecurity monitoring for company accounts that are linked in a way to personal accounts.
