Demon Slayer Season 2 is, reportedly, in the works and shall be out by now if not because of the COVID-19 pandemic. After a mega-successful movie, fans will surely see Tanjiro Kamado and friends back on the small screen.

Mugen Train has surpassed a lot of movie records and broken some history after becoming a massive hit. With its success, it is no surprise that Ufotable will be working on Demon Slayer Season 2.

The anime's second season holds the answers to the questions that the movie left. It is expected to continue the events from the film, just like how the movie continued the story from the first season.

According to BlockToro, there are a lot of rumors surrounding the anime sequel. Aside from its possible release this year, the new installment will surely be related to the anime series and not another anime movie.

In fact, there are reports Demon Slayer Season 2 will drop in April this year. It is, allegedly, under production and will be out in three to four months.

Earlier reports revealed that the team behind the title would begin working on its second season once they are done doing the Infinity Train movie. By the looks of it, the cameras have started rolling for the film and the anime's second season is now in the works.

An anime industry official even claimed there were "talks" about the franchise's "future projects," Monsters & Critics noted. Toho's managing producer Ichikawa Minami expressed his interest in doing more Demon Slayer movies. If ever they will be working on the anime side, three major companies will be involved in the "anime production committee:" Aniplex, Ufotable, and Shueisha.

Meanwhile, talking about the movie's success, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train was out in October 2020 in Japan and would be released in North America early this year, per EconoTimes. Like the anime, it was also based on the manga of the same title by Koyoharu Gotōge.

The film became an instant box office hit, earning a whopping 390 million Yen or $3.77 million. The success was entirely unexpected, given that the world is still grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic.

One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda himself, commended the movie for its greatness. He even said the franchise was "really amazing" as he enjoyed how it effortlessly saved "many people's feelings." Now, it looks like it will take no time before Demon Slayer Season 2 will be out.
