Paul Pogba could be out of Old Trafford next summer but former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand is not worried a bit. The club hero said the Red Devils can very well let go of Pogba and then work on acquiring Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish.

According to Ferdinand, Grealish's arrival will more than compensate for the loss of Pogba, who is now considered a wantaway member of the United roster. If the Frenchman wants out then United will have to turn their attention on the England international, whom Ferdinand said will be a great addition to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

The ex-United defender said he can vouch for Grealish's training and playing attitude. The Villa star's fine form is a result of discipline and hard work, and can deliver as expected.

Ferdinand stressed that if he were a manager, Grealish is his priority transfer target, insisting that the attacking midfielder is a moving nightmare for defenders. The United legend insisted that he is reminded of Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho when watching Grealish play.

"I don't care if Pogba goes or not, Grealish is my man," Goal reported Ferdinand as saying.

Solskjaer was thought to be after the Villa skipper last summer but the rumored signing failed to materialize despite Grealish making clear after last season's campaign that he's all out to join up with United. The Norwegian boss seemed determined to bring the 25-year-old on board but the demand made by the star's club prompted United to back off.

Grealish had an asking price a few months back that the Red Devils believed was unreasonable and the demand only went up with the Villa man never stopping to impress since the start of the ongoing season. For a negotiation on the player to start, a fee of £100 million is required and Ferdinand said spending that big is justified.

He pointed to Grealish displaying consistency in his club's Premier League fixtures and what was seen strongly indicated that the Villa star is set to explode and become even bigger. There is no denying that Grealish is worth the money coming from United.

Meanwhile, the speculations on Grealish eventually signing up with Solskjaer's side gained even more traction when the midfielder was caught on tape chatting with United captain Harry Maguire, The Mirror reported.

The encounter happened during Villa's losing match at Old Trafford and no juicy details were offered on how the conversation went. Nonetheless, United fans were quick to pick up on the possibilities that could develop following the England teammates having a friendly conversation.

One supporter surmised Grealish still dreams of wearing the United shirt and suggested picking the Villa man over Pogba is quite easy.
