Melania Trump maintained her silence amid the controversies surrounding the riot in the U.S. Capitol. Despite the public and the media's eagerness to hear the First Lady's sentiments over the matter, she has seemingly chosen to focus on her own concerns.

CNN, later on, learned that she was at the Executive Residence at the time of the pro-Trump supporters' uproar, according to Vanity Fair. She was, reportedly, doing a photoshoot for "rugs and other items" inside the White House.

Sources, who claim to have knowledge of Melania's activities for the day, said that there were even professional lighting tools, which are normally used for official photography and videography, for the shoot. She was, allegedly, "overseeing the photo project" for her "coffee table book about decorative objects" inside the People's House.

Reports continued that Melania Trump was with White House Chief Usher Timothy Harleth while completing the shoot. At the time, media and reporters, as well as some members of her staff, were, reportedly, asking whether she would release a statement. Some even asked if she would urge a "call to stop the violence."

But, unlike what she did during the protests surrounding the controversial police killing of George Floyd, the First Lady kept quiet, and has since refrained from talking about the issue. Another White House source, then, asserted that Donald Trump's wife is "checked out." She is no longer "in a place mentally or emotionally" where she intends to involve herself with all the debacle in her surrounding.

A separate report from CNN earlier in December stated that Melania Trump has already started segregating her things. She was, reportedly, determining which of her things goes back to their New York property and which goes to Mar-a-Lago.

Some insiders, also, alleged that the First Lady "just wants to go home." Accordingly, it makes total sense why she now distances herself from making comments in the last few days of her stay inside the White House.

Amid all the talks, though, it remains unclear what Melania Trump plans to do after her stint as the First Lady of the United States. A few sources claimed, however, that she will publish a material that will detail her experience inside the White House.

Others, also, speculated that she would relocate to Floria, alongside her son Barron Trump. This came after reports emerged that she was asking and looking for schools around the area.
